We've spent years looking for cures.
Why aren't we also looking for the cause?
For more than ten years, October has been painted pink to raise awareness around breast cancer and the need for a cure.
Each year, more than 200,000 women are diagnosed with breast cancer and more than 40,000 die each year. While Congress and others bathe the country in a sea of pink, believing that things are better, the women living with breast cancer, as well as their families, still lack the answers they need. After a decade of Breast Cancer Awareness months, we still have no idea what causes 70% of breast cancer cases and we don't know how to prevent any of them.
It's time to move to the next step. It's time to tell our leaders that pink is pretty but breast cancer is not.
Everyone knows someone with breast cancer. Speak up today and tell Congress that you want them to support and enact the Breast Cancer & Environmental Research Act.
